And it dawned on me as I was following one last night. They took the outline of the Predator grille, flipped it, and installed it as tailights. Someone at Toyota must REALLY like that design.

I think their designers are just huge fans of creases.

It’s a solid design. Frankly, the new Prius looks pretty slick. I hear it isn’t bad to drive, either.

I think the designers of the rear end are inspired by women from Far Side cartoons more than is healthy.
It’s a “cat eye” glasses look plus weird lumpiness.

I actually like the taillights, The thickening at the very bottom almost makes it look like it was drawn with an ink pen

I like the detailing on the Prius, at least they tried to make it interesting other than the previous generations.

EVERYTHING about the new Prius has been bugging me.
Why do they hate peoples’ eyes so much?

DAE think the Prius Prime’s front fascia has an uncanny resemblance to the Acura NSX’s front fascia?

Note to Prius: This may come as a surprise to you (and others), but you are not actually an NSX. Quit it.

For some reason the tail lights look like neon from a 50's movie theater to me.

The whole bottom half of the taillights just went too far I think. If they ended where that glass ended, they’d be a little small but nice triangles which I think would look way better.
What they have now is more unique for sure, but I think it’s too extreme and divisive - a love it or hate it. But I guess if only the picky car design people hate it, then it’s not an issue for Toyota...

I assume (maybe incorrectly) that the reason the tailights are as long as they are is probably due to some federal mandate of having “X” amount of light surface area. That’s only a hunch though.

It’s definitely unique, and much more interesting than previous Prii

I’m not necessarily saying I hate it, just something bugged me. I can see what you’re saying about it being an ink pen drawing though. Kind of neat when you look at it that way.

Yeah, I’d be interested to take one for a spin. Although I don’t think I’ll ever get used to how quiet they are.

That’s like a Salvador Dali painting. Can’t say I like those tailights.

Mm I can definitely see such a mandate being in existence. Whether or not it’s true, good call.
